N.C. review:
With the help of his estranged father (Cory Kays), 14-year-old Caleb (Embry Johnson) escapes a government research facility and makes his way to the remote location where he expects to receive the last of three messages from God.
I found this film to be a little boring. The acting was lethargic, and, while there were multiple chase sequences, the characters’ inevitable escapes were all pretty anti-climactic. That’s not to say that it was bad. The film does well in its exploration of the way peoples’ actions differ when they are motivated by money, faith, or sense of duty.
I would recommend this film to fans of apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic science fiction and to fans of religious science fiction and drama.
